Movies, movies, movies. I watched Sex and Lucia on DVD. Very, very good. The plot and characters were compelling, and the cinematography is stupendously delicious. Spain. The coast. The beach. The air, the sun, the blue sky--you get the idea. It's beautiful.

I watched the Bourne Identity. Isn't Matt Damon a cutie?

I made it through about the first half of Lust & Caution. I can tell it's also very good, but it wasn't my kind of thing.

Movie Effects

I watched The Big Lebowski the other day and started craving White Russians. Now I just watched this clip from Sideways, so of course I'm sipping Pinot Noir as I type this. Major tasty. I pulled this bottle out of the rack, having no idea where it came from. I think people came over and gave it to us at some point. Sometimes forgetting is fun.

Valentino Review

Valentino was good. Very good. If you like documentaries, you'll like this film. I chose it because I have no interest in fashion or high culture, and the things most unfamiliar to me always hold the gems.

This Valentino character. Wow. He's 77 years old and has the most extravagant lifestyle I've ever seen. It's staggering and breathtaking and all the rest. The movie follows the behind-the-scene workings of the fashion industry, Valentino's relationship with his partner, his houses, yacht, jet, etc. etc. I laughed my ass off. I also got teary a few times. It was that kind of movie.

My favorite line: "I love beauty. It's not my fault."
